Ahhh San Antonio!

Time for another great adventure! So Saturday Daniel asked me what we were doing.. due to lack of any other idea we hoped on the motorcycle and went to the Japanese Garden. Here is what we enjoyed.

So this use to be a quarry. A guy..... found out that the rock or limestone was really good at holding things together... science proved it had the right proportion of limestone to something to make great cement. So here is was for a while.. until it moved. then later in like 1915 they had an immigrant from japan turn the old quarry that was a hole in the ground, into a garden.. here is the product. If and when you come to visit we'll take you there to read the signs your self.

so it was tons of fun and we are enjoying our adventures so when we get to entertain you, well have tons of fun! :)

New adventures

Well there isn't too much going on.... Work, sleep, eating, having some fun. But here are our latest adventures, ones that will go on for a while too. First off we decided we wanted to grow some avocado trees. They will grow nicely here, if we can get them to sprout that is.

Our next news is that we've added to the family! Meet Sheldon, our beta fish. :) I just bought him and we are enjoying having him around. He's a cute little guy with some character. He will come up to the glass and just look at me while I watch him. Cute little guy.

And here he sits with a view of everything. He can see us in the kitchen, and living room. He just swims around and watches everything.

And those are our new adventures. Daniel likes to tease me that I got a fish because I am so desperate for a friend here. Which may be some what true. But we are working on it. :) So life is good, fun and all around great.

A Birthday, Adventure and Sushi

Alrighty. We have had quite the week. It started off with a bang on Monday. Daniel's Birthday! I made his favorite cake, and a card. I bought presents and cut out balloons to make it festive. Daniel Loved it.

Then Saturday after looking at a house we decided to take a trip up north to Fredericksburg. It's a cute little town that was settled by a German colony. It is on what is referred to as "the Hill Country".

There were a few Antique shops that we stopped in. I LOVE teacups and china. They had this set for china, plates, bowls, saucers, cups.... but a bit out of our price range and I couldn't justify buying it at this time.... Maybe some day I'll have a nice china set. And I'm always looking for teacups, so some time I'll find a new one for my collection.

While touring shops we found a Japanese serving set that was a good deal. We got 2 of everything. So Daniel decided it was time to start learning to make sushi. So we bought a bamboo mat, seaweed and all the good stuff. Our first roll... well.... I got too much rice and forgot to flip it, so the seaweed was on the outside.. Daniel put too much in it so it didn't close and thus didn't stay together.
Our second roll turned out nicely though.
