The Missions

Well not only do we have the Alamo we have 4 other Missions also! So Daniel and I went.. Well we only did one, because we were soooo hot! I don't want to spoil it, cuse i have a feeling many of you will want to see these yourselves when you come, so here are some sneak peaks.

We also had Daniel's Grandma and 2 cousins come stay for just a couple days. We showed them the river-walk and the Alamo. Daniel had to work, but he had seen them already, I hadn't seen the Alamo yet, and Love the river-walk. So it was a tons of fun!

This is the Alamao

So When you come we have,
The river-walk
The missions
Sixflags
Sea World
The zoo
Tea Gardens
The Ocean aka the Gulf of Mexico, only 2 hours
Camping
Tons of shopping and really cool stores
Fredericksburg only 1 hour

and so much more! Stuff for every age of the family! But I'll try not to spoil everything!

What's up

So here is our latest project. We are redoing the front yard. We have been working on the edging. We did the tree Saturday and started the other edging. We are going to plant bushes along the front and do mulch around those and up the side along the currant trees we have.

This is a rough drawing of what we are doing. We are lining edges and will plant a little hedge on the front along the side walk, and the bring that into the right side all the way up to the fence and mulch that area. Then in front of the house I am planting 3 rose bushes, and then we will have to re-sod or seed the front yard for new grass. As it is now it's mostly dirt and weeds... yuck. So we are hoping to refine it and make it look much more put together. and as we work on this we are also working on re-grading the back yard and digging levels. More on that later as it gets closer.

So we are busy with landscaping in the evenings and inside work during the day. Lots of cleaning and I still have 2 rooms with some wall paper to take off, plus my every week life errands.. so i am super busy as is Daniel with work and the house!

Here is the avocado plant I grew!!! I am so excited that it has leaves. when we moved it, it only had 2 leaves and Propane ate one... grrrr.. but it has recovered well.

and all of my other hopefuls.

Here is our "entertainment center" we got for free off of craigs list. Since we don't have a TV it is our book shelf, and works great!

P.S.

My previous post wasn't loading this video but i love it. I dropped an ice cube one day and propane attacked it and thought it was so much fun. We tried it again and she loves playing with ice cubes. SO a new treat, and she comes running from anywhere when she hears us getting ice. :)

The house

Alrighty. So we have been working on the house and moving in etc. But we have been in the house almost 2 weeks! We got an exterminator out to get rid of the many spiders and cockroaches. ew. But we are loving it! We have everything here and just ned to finish unpacking boxes.

So here is the front of our house! We keep the motorcycle, bicycles and buick in the garage and the truck outside. It's a 2 car arage but a skinny one. Not like my parents, where you can fit 2 cars with room in the middle and on either side. :)
Living room

The fan Daniel installed for us in the living room! Got it on sale! yay!
The chandler we got at a garage sale for 20 bucks! And we are trying to find a table that will fit more than 2 people. Gotta love craigs list!

My Kitchen! Our dishwasher is dead we found out. It will run, but the soap dispenser is broken to the dishes don't get very clean. So I'm hand washing until we can afford a new one.

Our Pantry that has tons of room! I love it!
tools and laundry!
Our master closest actually has our clothes in it! It took a while to get everything over here and for some reason the closet clothes kept being forgot.
We put Daniel's office in our bedroom since we have TONS of room.

Our projects:

We have been taking the remaining wall paper off in the landing area. We found a hint on line, after trying sand paper. Hot/warm water and fabric softener. Works GREAT!

Before
Afters

This wall nothing, beautiful!

This is the wall we tired with sand paper. took a while and not pretty.. we might have to re-texture
We also pulled up these rather large concrete stepping stones in the front corner. We are thinking either grass again or a bush. not sure which. Need to Landscape front and back yards still.
Another project is that a few days ago our water heater died and we got a new one! We took out, with a considerable amount of trouble, the old water heater and put in a new one. We had to get a "lowboy" it has 38 gallons. I don't like how they set up the water heater and furnace. Oh well.

Propane was being very cuddly, and sat in Daddy's lap while he read instructions.
Our new water heater!
Our mess from all the work. We have found that with owning a home that needs repairs frequently we are acquiring a lot of new tools quickly. :) Not that either of us mind.

Propane waits by the door to let you know when she is ready to come in. It's soo cute when she runs around the yard crazy then you don't see her and she's just waiting calmly.
And lots of the time she will let you know when she want's to go out!
Our friend Micheal, also known as Q. Has a couple dogs of his own and gave us a toy his dogs no longer use. It is a rabbit with no stuffing and 2 squeakers. Propane wasn't sure at first but now LOVES it. if you touch it at all she will pounce and take it right back. lol

Up date

Our house is all clean! So the house is all clean, we have all our lights up, and have the rest of our appliances coming friday. We have an exterminator coming tomorrow, and then I can start unpacking everything! :) We are working on getting walls prepped. Well washing off and taking sticky's off... We are almost done pressure washing the siding and drive way.

Propane loves her backyard! And we love playing with her. So yea, everything is going well and we are almost ready to move in. We have all of our boxes there, all we have left is what we use. so the apartment is looking a little bare. But we are sooo excited.
