Scratch that!

I lied! lol well not at the time. Latter in the evening our Realtor called back and said she received a call about the HUD home. Evidently the first bid they accepted fell through, and we are the back up!! So we filled out the paper work and are sending it in for the contract. Since it is a FHA loan we can't close earlier than 45 days, but that's not too bad. So we are in the process of buying our home!

If all goes well we will be home owners by the beginning of May! So there is some happy news! It was a great birthday present to me! :) We are supper excited and are so blessed that we did get the home!

Quick update

Just wanted to post what we found out about the house we bid on. Unfortuently we did not get it. :( Makes us sad, it was beautiful and perfect. Oh well there is a house out there for us! We just have to find it now.

Yes, more fun :)

ok, so my blog is making me mad. it isn't consistent with the way it organizes the photos as you put them in, and even if I have them oriented the right way, it decides a different orientation would be better.... ggrrrrr... so this isn't how I want this post to look at all but here it goes!

So this last weekend we did a little fun. We visited the Toyota Farm to Table event! It's is pretty cool. They had local restaurants come with samples of food. They were supper yummy. While you sampled food you got stamps and once you had visited 3 foods and had 3 stamps you could get a free potted herb. They also let you test drive their hybrid cars and you got a cutting board. We didn't drive them though.

It was held at the Pearl market which is where the local Farmer's Market is held. So we got to see that too. it was amazing. It is set up next to part of the river walk too!
I thought this was just awesome!

This is a culinary school right next to the Farmer's Market....
They had kids fill these out and had them all over the market. they were so cute. We liked this one because our best friend is an Allen.
They also had the new prius there.

Then a few weekends ago we decided to go to USAA and take use of their tennis courts. We had sandwiches for lunch around one of the lakes. there were a bunch of turtles, fish, birds... etc we enjoyed watching the turtles. they would run off when they saw/heard us and then a few of the brave ones would come back if we were still. you could look out on the lake and see little turtle heads sticking up and go back down...

And here are some more pics of Sheldon. he is such a funny fish, but we love him. he loves to hide in his plants and i'm pretty sure he thinks he's invisible when he does... he thinks he's so clever.

Spoiled fish

No, this first picture doesn't have anything to do with Sheldon, but they are some AMAZING hamburgers I made.. Looks good hu? I did Worcestershire sauce, red pepper flakes, an egg and some Italian bread crumbs. yummy and spicy. and they were really big.. we are adapting to TEXAS! lol I just got the patties a weee bit too big.

Since we love Sheldon our fish, I bought him a little plant to keep him company. He was very skeptical about it. He loved it when i put it next to his bowl, but when i put it in his bowl.. he was not very happy with me.. but then he was ok with it after a while.

Soooo then Sheldon was being weird, and we were reading and come to find beta fish are semi tropical. Their water should be about 78 degrees. His water had been much cooler than that. We were leaving windows open at night to keep the house cool so we don't have to run the AC yet. So we decided he needed a water heater and his bowl was too small... soooo..... He got a 5.5 gal tank, with a water warmer, new rocks, another plant, and a floating log to play with. (which he absolutely loves!)

And Daniel decided we should try to see if he would be ok with some shrimp to help me clean the tank.... So we got 2 ghost shrimp and found out we could get a snail for free... so a snail also.. when we put them in the tank, Sheldon chased the shrimp for a little while then was ok with them. the snail just sat at the bottom and he looked at it a couple times but left it alone. Well when the snail had made the trip to the glass and climbed up the side, Sheldon would go up to it and flare his gills at it, and of course the snail wouldn't move.. this made Sheldon soooo mad.. he would swim up to it flare for a couple seconds, go away and then come back and flare.. and that's all he would do... it made him sooo mad.. the shrimp he could care less about cuse they ran away.. but the snail just made him furious. (which is not good for him, flaring his gills is not healthy and it put a lot of stress on him, but it was sooo funny.) So we are just down to one fish. No shrimp or snail anymore, Sheldon is much happier with that arrangement.

The other day, well ok it's been a week.. no almost 2 weeks since this.... But we were driving to meet our Realtor so Daniel could see the houses that passed my critic, and this is what we saw on one of the roads. I know not all of you know this car, but to remind you this is the car we carved in our pumpkin. Nissan GTR! An amazing car we love!

Which there are a lot of nice cars the most common when you drive are Nissan, Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac, Porsche is quite common too... But to see a sport car, we were really excited. We are always watching cars as we drive.. we've seen some really nice cars.

So life is good. We have decided having a fish is fun, and a little more expensive than we had foreseen. but I guess that was just us..... He was ok, but we worried about him. So we are learning, growing, having fun and all that jazz.. San Antonio provides a lot of adventure and as i mentioned we have been doing a lot of house hunting and research. I have seen a ton of them, but the exciting news is that while out on this last run, the Realtor said there was another one just up the street that we liked on the website she sends us properties on. So we decided to pop on over really quick, and it is amazing! a little over 2300 square feet, 4 bed, 2.5 bath, on .15 acre (which is actually not a bad sized lot here.) and a 2 car garage. We were amazed that it was in our price range, but it is in great shape and offers just enough landscaping and things to do to have fun. Plus we could buy this house and not have to worry about moving to a bigger house ever. We could raise kids with plenty of room and the school District is the best in San Antonio, and so on....
Soooo we made a bid! It is a HUD home so it's a bid instead of an offer, and which is why we can afford it. We have up to 32 days to know if we got it or not.. could be earlier.. So we'll see! We are very excited!
Till next post!
