The Weekend

So we had a great weekend. It was warm and we were able to be outside for most of it. We did go swimming a couple times too. :) But we spent some time at Lowes. We were lookign at things for the house. We also helped a friend work on a deck he is building..... Hence the following 2 pictures. We were starting to burn so he grabbed hats for us.... ;)

Later that evening we made sushi for dinner. We love making sushi, it's fun. Though it makes quite a mess... and since the kitchen was already a mess........

Filler In

So really quickly, While I have two seconds to spare. Things are going well with the house. We had the Home Inspection today. The house is very "clean" and structurally sound. Which is good since it is only 10 years old. (but we found out people who get foreclosed on usually let the house fall in pretty bad shape and don't water the lawn, which here is a VERY big deal because it causes the foundation to shift and causes cracking in the foundation and in the house.. which is a big problem we've ran into house searching.... )

So the house is in very good shape, of course there are cosmetics here and there... doors, windows, lights, etc.. the only one bigger thing is the AC is broken. :) So we are working in figuring everything out with that. Since it is a HUD home and such. Though really it's probably at most a 2500 fix, but most likely less than that. The Heater works and all of the inside features, so it has something to do with the outside unit. But we are seeing what the next step is with that.

So that's where we are.. AC and just getting all the paper work filled out for this and that and whatever the Realtor and lender send us. lol Today I printed a whole tree and signed 5 things already. But it is coming along nicely.

p.s. I am giving a talk in church on sunday!!! ahhh I'm kinda nervous, I haven't' given a talk for 4+ years now!

Any way much love to all and take care!

R.I.P

So our little Sheldon died yesterday morning. He kept getting sick even after medications, he would be better then get sick again. So he is now somewhere he wont' get sick. We use to joke that he was just following "mommies" example. We miss his cuteness and making us laugh. It will be a little while before we look at getting another fish.

Betta are suppose to be pretty easy to take care of... Guess we have some more to learn and hopefully get a healthier one next time.

P.S. Update on the avocados.... nothing. I think I killed them too. :(

Extra, Extra!

Extra, extra read all about it! hehe So here are a few things that we've been up to. Daniel and I go to the USAA campus and play tennis. which i stink at, but Daniel is teaching me and we have tons of fun. Plus it gets us out of the house. We found ant's and followed them, we found this Caterpillar. He was cute and funny when he walked.

There are two herds of deer on the campus, and we saw a tons of them! The campus has all sorts of wildlife. Plus the deer are quite docile and use to being around people and cars.

For my birthday Daniel took me to a outdoor sports store to find a sleeping bag. This store is AMAZING! we had fun walking around and looking at everything. Clothes, guns, camping, boats, etc. They also had a tons of stuffed animals all over, a water fall, pond and live fish.... :)

Scratch that!

I lied! lol well not at the time. Latter in the evening our Realtor called back and said she received a call about the HUD home. Evidently the first bid they accepted fell through, and we are the back up!! So we filled out the paper work and are sending it in for the contract. Since it is a FHA loan we can't close earlier than 45 days, but that's not too bad. So we are in the process of buying our home!

If all goes well we will be home owners by the beginning of May! So there is some happy news! It was a great birthday present to me! :) We are supper excited and are so blessed that we did get the home!

Yes, more fun :)

ok, so my blog is making me mad. it isn't consistent with the way it organizes the photos as you put them in, and even if I have them oriented the right way, it decides a different orientation would be better.... ggrrrrr... so this isn't how I want this post to look at all but here it goes!

So this last weekend we did a little fun. We visited the Toyota Farm to Table event! It's is pretty cool. They had local restaurants come with samples of food. They were supper yummy. While you sampled food you got stamps and once you had visited 3 foods and had 3 stamps you could get a free potted herb. They also let you test drive their hybrid cars and you got a cutting board. We didn't drive them though.

It was held at the Pearl market which is where the local Farmer's Market is held. So we got to see that too. it was amazing. It is set up next to part of the river walk too!
I thought this was just awesome!

This is a culinary school right next to the Farmer's Market....
They had kids fill these out and had them all over the market. they were so cute. We liked this one because our best friend is an Allen.
They also had the new prius there.

Then a few weekends ago we decided to go to USAA and take use of their tennis courts. We had sandwiches for lunch around one of the lakes. there were a bunch of turtles, fish, birds... etc we enjoyed watching the turtles. they would run off when they saw/heard us and then a few of the brave ones would come back if we were still. you could look out on the lake and see little turtle heads sticking up and go back down...

And here are some more pics of Sheldon. he is such a funny fish, but we love him. he loves to hide in his plants and i'm pretty sure he thinks he's invisible when he does... he thinks he's so clever.
