Vaccation: Day 3, Cozumel Mexico

Our first port was Cozumel, Mexico. Here is our ship.

Here is our ship next to another one.

The further away you got from the ships, the more you realized how massive they are. You could see them from anywhere almost.

Our little boat taking us to teh bus to go to the Mayan Ruins of Tulum

 Mayan Calendar

 LOOK! I climbed a palm tree. :)
The entry to Tulum. This was the math & Science center. They built a wall not for protection, but to separate the learned from the rest. The Mayans were even smaller than I am. So somewhere around 5ft or less. Depending on if they stooped to go through the doors, or not.

This is one of the Temples. They built the Temples with doors Facing East and West, because the Sun was the most important thing to them. This Temple is oriented so that the sun would line up during the solstice. This helped them know when to plant and when to harvest. The things they figured out with the seasons, math, science, the universe, etc.

You can see that the pillars are short, and the buildings are short and look somewhat funny.

The city is on a cliff over looking the ocean. They used the ocean to canoe goods to trade, with other cities.

What you thought only existed on post cards. Amazing.

 And holy cow, Iguanas EVERYWHERE!!!!

That night we got an Elephant with turn down. :)
